HIKING & SIGHT SEEING | Guests are welcome to walk around the farm, see the dairy, and look at the bird and animal life, such as duiker, bushbuck and Kudu. Children can make use of the Swings, Trampolene and Mountain bikes to explore this safe and beautifull environment. |
RELAXING | Take full advantage of our South African weather and sunbath around our swimming pool on those warm summer days, or simply catch up on your reading (and napping!) time under the trees of our lush, peaceful garden. |

DINING FOR BED and BREAKFAST GUEST | If the cottages are booked on a Bed and Breakfast basis, a healthy breakfast is served in the Inviting Dining room by Lezl, who prepares all meals her self. Should you wish to leave early or want to picnic at the Addo Elephant Park, a breakfast basket can also be supplied. Light Suppers are served by prior arrangement, on the veranda of your cottage, (the cottages also has dining tables in side) where you can enjoy watching the magnificent sunsets and listen to the chatter of the guinea fowl. Suppers can be booked when making your online booking at The Green Tree. |
BIRD WATCHING | For the bird lover, there is also plenty of bird life around the farm or you can visit the Nukakamma Canoe trail (26 km), and do bird watching from a Canoe on the Sundays River, or take a walk along the beach at Colchester and see the beautiful moving sand dunes of the Eastern Cape

| SELF-CATERING | No meals are provided when self-catering. Breakfast and Lunches can be enjoyed at the Nanaga Farm Stall, 13 km from The Green Tree and on route to the Addo Park. The Addo Park also has a restaurant where meals can be enjoyed. Guest can get wood on the farm should they wish to braai. All other produce can be bought from the Spar grocer store at Colchester or Port Elizabeth, when coming from the N2. Colchester also has a cozy restaurant, which is popular for their steaks and home cooked meals. | GAME DRIVES HOSTED FOR THE GREEN TREE COTTAGES | Essendene Game Farm, 3kms from The Green Tree Cottages, offers 2 hour Game Drives with a professional guide in an open Landrover. Lush coastal indigenous forest teeming with African Game including Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland, Kudu, Nyala, Zebra, Impala, Bontebok, Gemsbuck, Warthog and many more. Rate: R150.00 per person is charged. Drives are from 10 am - 12 pm, 2 pm - 4 pm and 8 pm - 10 pm for a night drive. Guests are collected and dropped off at The Green Tree Cottages by your guide. Bookings are made by The Green Tree Cottages. |
